I added this page to show that the leaping mullet on the main page is not a fluke. These photos were taken in the afternoon on Dec. 10, 2002, within a period of about 1 hour. The mullets were unusually active. It is easy to understand why the osprey thrive at San Elijo!
The San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve is a 900-acre coastal wetland fed by fresh-water creeks. It is located between Solana Beach and Encinitas, CA.
