A Great Blue Heron was hanging around the field, probably
hoping to catch a gopher. The Ospreys have a low tolerance
for any carnivorous birds in the vicinity, and one of them attacked
the heron, which was perched on the top of the baseball field
backstop. What caught my attention was the loud raspy scream it
emitted on being attacked. The Osprey made several passes at it,
eventually driving the heron to the ground. Still not satisfied,
the Osprey made one final pass at the grounded heron.
