Can I use a photograph for free? Many requests I receive begin with lavish praise and proceed to request use without pay. Please. Bird photography requires skill, hard work, and expensive equipment. If you're putting together a publication, do the writers, editors, and repro workers donate their time?  Do you work for nothing? No? I don't either.
